Small Breeder Shows
Small Breeder Shows are intended for small breeders to show their alpacas with other similarly sized farms. A farm qualifies as a Small
Breeder if it has no more than 20 AOA registered females at the time of registrationfor that show. These shows are meant
to foster and further the education of small breeders through class placements and Judge comments.
Small breeder classes shall be held in each breed, gender, age, and color as in the regularhalter classes at the show.
Qualifying Small breeder farms can enter in one of the following categories in shows that offer such classes: Small Breeder
category or regular halter category. A qualifying farmcan register in only one category and entry into that category
shall be consistent for all its entries.
Small Breeder farms that enter Group Production classes and/or Bred and Owned will competein the regular halter category.
Any co-owned alpacas must be entered in the regular halter category if the co-owner is not a Small Breeder.
The category in which a farm has entered cannot be changed once the show program and class listing isprinted.
Entries in Small Breeder and regular halter shall be split into color designations only if every
colordesignation within that Color Group has a minimum of three entries.
The minimum of eight Huacayas and six Suris to hold a Color Championship in each Color Group shall bethe combined total of
alpacas in Small Breeder and regular halter classes in that Color Group.
1st and 2nd place winners in Small Breeder & regular halter classes shall advance to the Color Championship in each Color Group
providing that minimum numbers of 8 Huacayas & 6 Surisare met. All rules for Color Championships and Judge’s Choice apply.
